Nell (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Nell personal assistant service at meetnell.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.
Conversation Data
Messages you send to and receive from your AI assistant are processed to provide the service. Conversations are stored in your private, isolated workspace and are not shared with other users.
Connected Services
When you connect services such as Google Calendar, Gmail, Telegram, or text messaging, we receive authentication tokens that allow Nell to interact with those services on your behalf. We request only the permissions necessary to provide each feature.
Usage Data
We collect usage metrics such as message counts and feature usage to improve our service. We do not sell or share this data with third parties.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full credit card number on our servers.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may use aggregated, de-identified data to analyze trends and improve our service.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure, isolated cloud infrastructure. Each user's AI assistant runs in its own private container with strict resource limits and network separation — your workspace is completely separated from other users.
All sensitive credentials (such as service connection tokens) are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM envelope encryption. Each piece of sensitive data is encrypted with a unique key, and those keys are themselves encrypted with a master key. All data is transmitted over TLS-encrypted connections.
Data Retention
Your account information and conversation history are retained as long as your account is active. Chat messages processed by your AI assistant are retained for a limited period to maintain conversation context, after which they are automatically deleted.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. If you cancel your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
Third-Party Services
Nell uses Anthropic's Claude AI models to power your assistant. Your messages are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Please review Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling practices.
Nell also integrates with the following services:
- Google (Calendar & Gmail) — to manage your calendar events and email on your behalf.
- Telegram & SMS — as messaging channels to communicate with your assistant.
- Stripe — to process subscription payments securely.
- Twilio — to send and receive text messages on your behalf.
Children's Privacy
Nell is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can disconnect third-party integrations from your dashboard, which will revoke Nell's access to those services. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond to all data requests within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the service or via email. Continued use of Nell after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
